Fanbase is a tech startup looking to revolutionize the social media game.

With the goal of giving power to creators, Fanbase launched a new social media platform that rewards creators and influencers for their content; much more than other platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

This startup was looking for new and innovative ways to expand its reach within the fun and trendy 18-24-year-old demographic.

  • Fanbase's priority goal was to drive app downloads and increase users aged 18-24. However, their user population at the time was older than desired (30-45).

    Our goal was to increase brand awareness within their target demographic, drive app downloads, and maintain the engagement of users once inside the app.

  • Our philosophy was to address the target audience in a new, refreshing, and resonating way.

    Much of Fanbase's social content was unintentionally geared toward users aged 30-45. We knew that in order to appeal to a younger crowd, the content had to fit in with the content they were already consuming (short-form videos, humorous trends, real content).

    The goal was to introduce new audiences through "give" content; such as down-to-earth, personable, and trending content.

    Once the audience was brought in, app features and benefits of joining Fanabse would be showcased through "sell" content. This was achieved by focusing on showcasing products and features with the goal of generating actions; in this case, app downloads.

    The other priority issue Fanbase had was an inability to maintain user engagement and activity once in-app. This added a completely different approach to the process as we needed to find ways to maintain user activity through an array of content exclusive to the Fanbase App.

  • Over an 18-month period with Fanbase, we were able to garner exceptional results!

    As you know, the top two goals for Fanbase were to increase brand reach within their target demographic and increase user activity in-app.

    Here are some of the results that were garnered:

    • Instagram following grew from 45k to over 100k

    • Instagram engagement rate increased from .7% to 3.5%

    • Twitter following grew from 2,188 to 7,456

    • Mention rate up 1,900% (Twitter)

    • 57% of Instagram followers are 18-24 (previously 32%)

    • Over 25k new downloads through organic and paid social efforts

    • Average user time-in-app increased from 42 minutes to 56 minutes (per month)
